Job Description
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for the sales performance, market share growth, and distribution network within a designated territory. You will lead a team, manage distributors/dealers, and implement local marketing strategies to outperform competitors in your region.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Planning: Develop and execute territory-wise sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor a team of Sales Officers or Executives. Conduct regular "joint calls" to coach them on the field.
Channel Management: Manage relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers. Ensure optimal stock levels and timely collections (payments).
Market Expansion: Identify "white spaces" (unmapped areas) and appoint new dealers or distributors to increase market penetration.
Competitor Intelligence: Monitor competitor pricing, schemes, and activities, and provide regular feedback to the National/Regional Sales Manager.
Secondary Sales Tracking: Monitor the flow of goods from the distributor to the retailer (Secondary Sales) to ensure consistent product availability.
Qualifications
Graduate in any stream; an MBA in Sales & Marketing is highly preferred.
